The earth of the water, Seaflower, Serrana Key

A scientific exploration reaches beyond the island of Providencia to enter the Serrana Key of the Seaflower Reserve, one of the largest hotspots of diversity in the Colombian Caribbean. Aboard a Colombian Navy ship, they reach one of the most unexplored points of the Seaflower Biosphere Reserve, which covers 10% of the Caribbean Sea, contains 77% of Colombia’s coral reefs and is the third largest barrier reef on the planet. Using high-tech resources, scientists seek to find the nesting sites of elusive and vulnerable turtle species and dive to the bottom of one of the most biodiverse seas in the Colombian Caribbean to understand the species that threatens it: the lionfish.
